SITE SELECTOR DATABASE
ABOUT THE SITE CONSULTANT DATABASE
CONTENT
The site selection database is designed expressly for economic developers. It contains site selection consultants, real estate corporate advisors, real estate brokers specializing in commercial & industrial real estate, management consulting contacts in “Big 5” companies, developers specializing in commercial & industrial real estate, national/regional construction companies, architectural firms, large engineering companies, and direct corporate contacts. The database contains contacts in the United States, Canada, and overseas. The latter include contacts in Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
BACKGROUND
This database is maintained by Jack and Michelle Tomasik (d.b.a Economic Strategies Group). In July 1998, a client requested a site selector database be added to a marketing program directed towards site selection consultants. We agreed that the resulting database would be retained under our ownership for resale to other area developers. Since then, the list has been updated at least once per quarters. It is a clean database, with errors of staff turnover and address movement that are corrected by telephone verification when they are identified. The database contains approximately 2,000 contact records from quarter to quarter.
The site selector database is our only product, and we take great pride in its accuracy. Our business strategy is built on satisfied repeat customers, and we provide customized customer assistance.
VERIFICATION TECHNIQUES
1. Web sites of the companies
2. Listings in linked web sites (e.g. trade journals, association rosters, etc.)
3. Trade association membership rosters
4. Verification emails to the companies
5. Verification phone calls to the companies
6. Feedback from database subscribers.
UPDATES
Updates are completed on a real-time basis. These include (a) direct telephone verification based on subscriber feedback for bad physical or email addresses and on our own test of email addresses and (b) addition of new contacts.
FILE FORMATS
The database is available in Excel 5.0 and CSV format, which can be used for subscribers using Excel, Access, and ACT. The database can be sorted in Excel for any type of targeting that is needed (e.g., developers in the Southeast United States). The last field in the contact record is an indicator for site selector or direct end-user/client.
RECORD CONTENT
The database contains both companies and individuals, in each office maintained by each company. In each facility, there is at least the name of an individual who manages the office. For the major companies, there are multiple individuals, which include at least the senior staff and sometimes mid-level consultants.

SUBSCRIPTION TERMS
Subscriptions are available for one calendar year at a price of $495. All new subscribers may renew a full-year subscription for the next calendar year at a price of $375. Calendar years begin at the quarter that an order is placed. The database can also be purchased on a one-time non-subscription basis for $275.
Each quarter, subscribers are emailed a complete database for the current quarter. Subscribers also receive three files of all modifications to the database – additions of new records, changes to individual records, and deletions of old records since the last quarter. Each quarter’s database contains a field to indicate a record change or record addition.
TERMS OF SALE
The database is intended for use by economic development agencies in their internal marketing program, and should not be distributed outside the subscribing agency. Resale of the database is expressly prohibited. Invoices are due and payable upon receipt.
